North Royalton High School (NRHS) senior Rowan Jones is making his mark both behind the camera and behind the scenes. As a student in Cuyahoga Valley Career Center's (CVCC) Media Arts program, Jones is pursuing his passion for photography and videography while simultaneously serving as chief construction officer for NRHS's upcoming spring musical production of "Shrek."
Jones, who credits CVCC instructor Bernie Van Tilburg's program for his growing expertise, has particularly excelled in lighting and production techniques. His enthusiasm for the field has already led to practical experience through a summer internship, secured through the program's networking opportunities.
"Don't second-guess yourself," Jones advises fellow students considering CVCC programs. "CVCC offers a fantastic opportunity to explore your passions and get a head start after high school."
Beyond his academic pursuits, Jones maintains an active photography portfolio on Instagram and enjoys skateboarding and playing guitar. After graduation, he plans to continue his education in photography and videography, with dreams of one day working for a skateboarding magazine.
